News Synopsis

Tata Motors recently revealed the highly-anticipated Punch EV, an all-electric variant of its micro SUV, built on the advanced acti.ev architecture.

The acti.ev platform, denoting Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle, lays the foundation for several upcoming fully-electric models.

Pre-bookings for this electric micro SUV have commenced at an initial amount of Rs 21,000, with the pricing details slated for release in the near future.

Exterior Transformation of the Tata Punch EV

The battery-powered Tata Punch undergoes significant cosmetic enhancements, notably in its front design. The revamped front fascia boasts a sealed-off nose accompanied by a sleek connected LED DRL strip and a restructured front bumper featuring vertical strakes and a silver faux skid plate.

Drawing inspiration from the Curvv concept unveiled in 2022, the Punch EV's face echoes the redesigned Nexon models. Additionally, the Tata logo doubles as the charging port inlet, while a convenient storage space under the bonnet is ideal for housing charging cables and adapters.

Interiors, Features, and Safety Offerings

While the cabin's overall design aligns with its petrol-driven counterpart, the Punch EV interior receives updates like redesigned air con vents, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a digital instrument cluster of the same size, and an illuminated two-spoke steering wheel.

Lower trims continue with a 7-inch touchscreen and a semi-digital instrument console. Noteworthy features include a 360-degree surround-view camera, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, Harman audio, LED fog lamps with cornering function, air purifier, electric sunroof, and Arcade.ev App suite for connected car tech.

Safety is prioritized with six airbags, ABS, ESC, blind view monitor, ISOFIX mounts, and more.

Unveiling the Powertrain Specifications of Tata Punch EV

Tata Motors is yet to confirm the exact powertrain specs for the Punch EV, offering two battery options: standard and Long Range. Anticipated to deliver a range between 300 km to 600 km, the standard version may provide up to 300 km on a single charge.

Expectedly, the vehicle will adopt a single front-wheel-drive layout. Charging options include a 3.3kW AC charger for the standard range and a 7.2kW AC charger for the Long Range version, with DC fast charging support up to 150kW.

Variant Options and Color Choices of Tata Punch EV

The Punch EV lineup comprises five trims - Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+, with the Long Range version available in the top three trims. Buyers can select from five dual-tone color schemes: Empowered Oxide, Seaweed, Fearless Red, Daytona Grey, and Pristine White, all complemented by a black roof and pillars.

As Tata Motors introduces the Punch EV, it showcases a blend of futuristic design, advanced features, and robust safety, elevating the prospects of an electrifying driving experience.
