Tata Power Renewables Commissions 300 MW Solar Plant in Gujarat

News Synopsis

In a press statement, Tata Power Renewables Energy Ltd (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power has commissioned a 300 MW solar power plant in Gujrat’s Dholera. It is India’s largest single-axis solar tracker system. Annually, this solar power plant will generate 774 MUs. Also, it will cut down on carbon emissions by 704340 MT/year. The solar power plant was commissioned well within the stipulated timeline. The company said that despite many challenges including COVID-19 and Lockdown, TPREL through Tata Power’s EPC arm Tata Power Solar Systems Limited has successfully completed the project within the project timelines due to its excellent project execution capabilities and experience. After the successful completion of the commissioning of the solar power plant, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Power, Dr. Praveer Sinha said: “ Our technical expertise and project execution skills will further solidify our position in the solar EPC space and help India lead the way in renewable energy growth." With the commissioning of this solar power plant, the renewables capacity in operation for Tata Power has reached 3,400 MW. Out of this, Solar capacity stands at 2,468 MW and Wind at  932 MW
