Tata and Renesas of Japan Collaborate on Cutting-Edge Semiconductor Solutions

Renesas Electronics Corporation, a Japanese provider of advanced semiconductor solutions, announced Wednesday a strategic partnership agreement with Tata Group companies Tata Motors (Tejas Networks) and Tata Electronics Corporation.

Renesas announced that the partnership will be used to develop, manufacture, and design semiconductor solutions for Renesas for improving innovation across electronic systems for India and emerging markets.

It added that "Renesas and Tata will support the acceleration of progress in advanced electronics and its multitudes of applications for the Indian and emerging markets, which sets us both on a path for continued success."

Hidetoshi Shibata, President and CEO of Renesas, commented on the partnership. Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Tata Sons chairman, expressed similar views.”We see great potential in collaborating with Renesas in areas like automotive electronics and present and future telecom networks. The collaboration will accelerate our presence in these areas in India as well as globally." According to the statement, Renesas and Tata Motors Ltd will collaborate on next-generation automotive electronics. This partnership will drive leadership performance and scalability of vehicles.
