News Synopsis

On Monday, Japanese automobile manufacturer, Suzuki Motorcycle India reported sales of 71,987 units in the month of April, witnessing a decline of 7.5 per cent from 77,849 units sold in the same month last year. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer told that its sales in India last month stood at 54,327 units, while it exported 17,660 units. In a statement, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycle India, Satoshi Uchida said, "Two-wheeler industry continues to navigate through the challenges thrown by the pandemic and semiconductor shortage. Even with these challenges, the company has maintained its sales momentum.”

The Managing Director of the two-wheeler company further informed that given the fact that this is the month of April, and the acute disruptions in the supply of semiconductors that the company has been struggling with, Suzuki Motor India has commenced the new financial year in a satisfactory manner. Uchida further commented, "We look forward to easing out of the supply limitations so that we can cater to the ever-increasing demand for company's two-wheelers, both from the domestic and overseas markets.”
