News Synopsis

SpinLaunch has signed a space act agreement with NASA. Through this partnership, SpinLaunch will develop and integrate the NASA payload and install it in the company's ballistic accelerator launch system to provide NASA with valuable information about future commercial launch potentials.

The Space Act Agreement is part of NASA's Flight Opportunity Program, which demonstrates promising technologies for space exploration, discovery and expanding space trade through in-orbit testing with industrial flight providers.

This program is managed by NASA's Space Technology Mission Directorate at NASA's headquarters in Washington, D.C. It is funded and managed by NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California. NASA's Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, California, manages bidding and evaluation of technologies to be tested on commercial aircraft.

SpinLaunch will explicitly fly NASA's first payload in a development test flight later this year and will fund NASA for post-flight payload recovery. The two organizations will work together to analyse the data and evaluate the system for future flight opportunities.
