News Synopsis

Japan's tech giant Sony plans to launch another next-generation product, the enhanced virtual reality headset. According to Engadget, the release date for PlayStation VR2 (PSVR 2) may not yet be set, but Sony has big plans.

At an investor briefing, the company announced that at least 20 "major" PSVR 2 games will be available soon. According to the report, the first and third titles will be mixed.

Sony didn't reveal any further details on the slide deck, but it included Horizon Key Art: Call of the Mountain. This is a VR spin-off of the Horizon game, but the release title of PSVR 2 has not yet been confirmed. It's not clear if any of the games in question have been remastered, an updated version of an existing title, or a port from another VR platform.

Other titles on the platform include Myst developer Cyan Worlds' Firmament, some games in the broken studio nDreams, and one by the teams behind Jurassic World Aftermath, Coatsink. The headset comes with a new VR2 Sense controller that supports 2000 x 2040 pixel screen resolution, 110-degree field of view, 120Hz maximum frame rate, and 4K HDR support for each eye.
