News Synopsis

On Tuesday, Engineering edtech startup Skill-Lync informed that it has built an in-house electric vehicle. According to the startup, this will help its students gain insights into the future of the automotive industry. This EV has been manufactured by a team of six in-house experts at Skill-Lync in partnership with professionals from leading OEMs in the country. The cost of building this EV was Rs. 5 lakh and it took the team nine months to build this.

This will assist their students with the practical knowledge about Electric Vehicles. It can carry up to five people and has a range of 40 KM. Its top speed is 45 kmph which it reaches from a standstill in six seconds. In a statement, SuryaNarayanan PaneerSelvam, cofounder of Skill-Lync said: “The automotive industry is going through a significant change, driven by sustainability and an increasing base of conscious consumers. In addition to our coursework, we are also offering a first-hand experience of building an EV from scratch, thus providing a holistic view of the future of the automotive industry.” The edtech startup also plans to launch a series of masterclass videos that will visually present the EV building process to its student
