News Synopsis

BrightCHAMPS, an Edtech unicorn, has spent $15 million in cash and stock to acquire Schola, a live learning platform for children based in Singapore. In February 2022, the edtech unicorn acquire Education10x, another edtech startup, making this deal its second-ever acquisition.

Schola is a platform that offers a range of classes in a live, one-on-one class approach for kids between the ages of 4 and 15 and was founded in 2019 by Aditya Gupta and Nhu Tran Le Thanh. Among other things, these classes cover public speaking and communication.

Schola also gives first-generation English speakers practice using spoken English in everyday situations. Currently, the startup is active in 12 nations, among them Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and others.

We're delighted to welcome Schola to the expanding BrightCHAMPS family, said Ravi Bhushan, co-founder and CEO of BrightCHAMPS.

“Given Schola’s profitability and sustainable growth approach with low cash burn, we already know that there is great synergy between the two companies’ operating models. I am confident that with Aditya and Nhu at the forefront, not only will Schola deepen our presence in the 30+ countries we’re already operational in, but will also help us introduce BrightCHAMPS to many other parts of the world,” added Bhushan.
