Meme coin Shiba Inu has decided to enter into the metaverse by releasing Shiba Land plots for purchase in the virtual world. The concept of Metaverse, under which users can interact with people with the help of its 3D avatars. It has been stirring quite an intrigue among several small and large tech companies.

The codename for Shiba Inu Metaverse is “Shiberse” for now, but the community leaders have promised to reveal the official name later in February. The coin handlers aim to introduce Shiba Land as a virtual real estate project. 

Shiba Inu has released its official announcement saying, “We understand the potential, expandability, and performing evolution that this type of metaverse option brings to the community.” The announcement further said that the remaining lands will then unlock and become available for the public after this exclusive selling process is finalised.

The team of the cryptocurrency is in talks with undisclosed entities for securing partnerships for this metaverse project. The SHIB coin currently trading at $0.00003342 on CoinMarketCap. Research reports expect the market opportunities for the metaverse to reach $800 billion by 2024.

Shiba Inu was made by an anonymous creator “Ryoshi” in August 2020 and was marketed as a Dogecoin killer. The mascot of Shiba Inu is a cartoon-like representation of a Japanese Shiba Inu dog.
