News Synopsis

Climate change and Global warming are some of the biggest challenges our planet is facing right now. These phenomenons have disastrous consequences from unpredictable weather to natural disasters. Amid these challenges, there is some alarming news recently surfaced. According to a new inter-agency report, Sea levels along the United States coastline are expected to rise by 10-12 inches on an average by the year 2050. These inter-agency include NASA, National Oceanic, and Atmospheric Administration, and other federal agencies. Due to this increase in sea level in the coming years, coastal floods are expected to occur more frequently and coastal cities to an extent can submerge as well. Nasa Administrator Bill Nelson said: "This report supports previous studies and confirms what we have long known: Sea levels are continuing to rise at an alarming rate, endangering communities around the world.”  The major reason behind this is attributed to the melting of glaciers due to Global warming. Reports like these should be taken seriously and effective action plans should be made and implemented at the earliest before it is too late.
