Samsung Will Hire 1,000 Engineers For Cutting-Edge R&D In India

In a time when Big Tech companies are laying off thousands of workers worldwide, Samsung announced on Wednesday that it plans to hire over 1,000 engineers from IITs and other top engineering institutions to work on cutting-edge technologies at its R&D centres around India.

Next year, the new employees will work at Samsung R&D Institute-Bangalore (SRI-B), Samsung R&D Institute-Noida, Samsung R&D Institute-Delhi, and Samsung Semiconductor India Research.

The new hires will work on cutting-edge technologies like system-on-a-chip (SoC), storage solutions, networking, cloud, big data, business intelligence, image processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the internet of things (IoT).

"Samsung's R&D centres aim to hire new talent from India's top engineering institutes who will work on breakthrough innovations, technologies, products and designs, including India-centric innovations, that enrich people's lives. This will further our vision of Powering Digital India," "stated Sameer Wadhawan, Samsung India's head of human resources.

Samsung will hire engineers from a variety of fields, including computer science and related ones. electronics, embedded systems, instrumentation, information technology, and communication networks.

The company will also hire people in fields like software engineering, computing, and mathematics. Around 200 engineers from prestigious IITs will be hired by Samsung R&D centres during this hiring season. Additionally, they have provided students at the IITs and other renowned colleges with over 400 pre-placement offers.

Over 7,500 patents in diverse fields have already been filed by Samsung research centres in India. A number of these patents have been made commercially available in products including the flagship Galaxy smartphones from Samsung, as well as wearables, networking hardware, and applications.
