News Synopsis

South Korean tech giant, Samsung Electronics has come up with an idea to increase the use of recycled parts in repairing smartphones with an aim to protect the environment.

According to reports, the company is considering introducing a manufacturer-certified recycled parts program for mobile device repair in the first half of this year. It is also planning to reduce burdens on consumers and negative impacts on the environment with the use of recycled materials.

The company is planning to boost consumer confidence by ensuring the quality and performance of recycled parts at a level that can match the new performance of new products. It is been promoting the use of recycled materials since announcing the Galaxy Project of the Earth in August 2021.

Some of the notebooks in the Galaxy S22, launched in February, and the new Galaxy Book2 Pro series, launched in April, used plastic materials recycled from used fishing nets.
