News Synopsis

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January, Samsung announced that future televisions will support non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Now the company is staying true to its promise.

The NFT platform, Nifty Gateway announced has recently announced that its platform is integrated into some Samsung TVs. It also said that 2022 QLED and Neo QLED TVs will be able to use Nifty’s services. Nifty’s application is also available on Samsung’s The Frame and Micro LED televisions.

The co-founder of Nifty Gateway, Duncan Cock Foster has said, “With our mission in mind, we would not be more excited to partner with Samsung to develop a groundbreaking NFT collecting experience. Their dedication to user experience and focus on the highest quality displays aligns perfectly with our vision to allow anyone, anywhere to interact with their favourite creators.”

In addition, the company said customers can purchase NFTs from  TVs using debit and credit cards along with cryptocurrencies. This suggests that Samsung TVs support fiat-based payments and do not limit users to NFTs alone.

Nifty Gateway's NFT collection includes well-known names such as digital artists xCopy and Beeple. Customers have access to more than 6,000 artworks from emerging and top artists such as Beeple, Daniel Arsham and Pak, the company said in a statement.
