Samsung Launched Its 'News' App With Daily Briefings, News Feeds And Podcasts

Samsung has released its "News" application available, providing users with access to daily news from a range of publishers through daily briefings, news feeds, and podcasts.

The company has released the application in beta, and it will eventually be made available to US consumers.

Avner Ronen, vice president of product development at Samsung Electronics, stated in a statement that"We created Samsung News to deliver breaking and premium news to Galaxy users in an easy-to-access format. Our goal is to support users by letting them curate their ideal news experience,"

Bloomberg Media, CNN, Fortune, Fox News, Glamour, GQ, HuffPost, Money, Newsweek, New York Post, Parade, POLITICO, Refinery29, Reuters, Salon, Slate, Sports Illustrated, The Daily Beast, TheStreet, USA TODAY, and Vice are just a few of the many partners whose news content will be initially available through Samsung News.

According to the company, other news sources will be gradually introduced to the app through Samsung's syndication partner, upday.

Additionally, the company announced that beginning on April 18, when their applications are updated, consumers who already have the Samsung Free app on their smartphone would see the icon changing to Samsung News.
