According to the news agency, AFP, Russia has been suspended by the United Nations General Assembly from Human Rights Council. The UNGA suspended Russia from Human Rights Council after killings in Ukraine's Bucha. 93 countries voted in favor of the resolution. 24 countries voted against it while 58 countries refrained themselves from the voting including India. yesterday  the  Emergency Special Session has been resumed by the UNGA on the suspension of Russia from the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

This decision was taken after Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US envoy to the United Nations urged to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council in front of the UN Security Council on Tuesday. Recently, many civilians were found dead in Bucha, besides their homes, and in mass graves. Ukraine held Russia responsible for the mass killings. However, Kremlin has denied all such allegations and claimed it to be Ukrainian propaganda.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. Moscow recognized Ukraine's breakaway regions - Donetsk and Luhansk - as independent entities, three days after its attack. Following the invasion, several countries including the UK, the US, Canada, and the European Union condemned Russia's military operations. Many companies have also halted their operations and businesses in Russia to protest against the attacks.
