  • Mission Amrit Sarovar: Over 68,843 ponds have been rejuvenated under this initiative, ensuring sustainable water conservation in rural areas.

  • Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) – Phase II: This phase is focused on maintaining open defecation-free (ODF) status and improving waste management practices across villages.

  • National Rural Health Mission: The government is committed to expanding healthcare access in rural regions, ensuring quality medical services and facilities.

5. India’s Progress in Rural Development – Key Statistics

  • The multidimensional poverty rate in rural India has dropped from 24.85% to 14.96%, showcasing progress in improving living standards and economic conditions.

  • The number of rural internet users has surged to 398.35 million, highlighting increased digital penetration and accessibility.

  • Rural wages have grown steadily, with:

    • Agriculture wages increasing by 5.7% for men and 7% for women.

    • Non-agriculture wages rising by 5.5% for men and 7.9% for women.
