Rise in M&A deals due to Tech Talent Shortage

IT companies have been facing a scarcity of Tech Talent lately. This eventually has increased the number of Merger and Acquisition deals in the Corporate world. The industry analysts say that due to the shortage of Information Technology workers, the numbers can further go up.  IT industry trade group CompTIA after analyzing data from the Labour employment Department said that almost 340,000 IT jobs remained unfilled in January which is 11% more than the previous year. Tim Herbert, Chief Research Officer of the CompTIA group said: “With the persistently tight labor market for tech talent, an ever-greater number of companies are willing to put all options on the table, including M&A”. Accenture Plc, IT consulting firm emerged as the biggest company to acquire other businesses and firms in its financial year 2021. It acquired 46 companies after shelling out $4.2 billion dollars.
