News Synopsis

India’s largest telecom company, Reliance Jio has announced its financial results for the third quarter of the current financial year. The financial results showcased the ARPU (average revenue per user). The results showed 18% growth in its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) from October to December 2021.

This is the highest ARPU recorded by the company. Reliance Jio raised the prices of its tariffs after Airtel and Vodafone Idea, which are still the cheapest among the three companies. Jio has managed to continue the lead over Airtel and Vodafone Idea in terms of subscribers. The analysts believe that the launch of JioPhone Next has helped the company to lead over its rivals in the market.

With a 2% increase in profit between October and December 2021, the company saw a surge of nearly 9% on a year on year basis. The company also saw an increase of nearly 14% in its revenues on year on year basis.
