News Synopsis

On January 16, 2023, Cognizant Americas will welcome former Infosys President Ravi Kumar, who just left the company after six years as president.

Over 70% of Cognizant Americas' overall annual revenue comes from this region.

“Ravi will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational performance of our business in the US, Latin America and Canada, including our industry teams, the Americas Consulting organisation, and the global Large Deals team.” Cognizant CEO Brian Humphires wrote in an internal email to employees.

Kumar will work closely with the CEO of Cognizant. He will also join the company's executive committee (EC), which is based in New York. In the field of consulting, process transformation, and technology adoption, he has more than 20 years of expertise. Cognizant expects Kumar, who serves on a number of boards, to spearhead significant transformational initiatives.

Prasad Sankaran will take over as the new leader of the Software & Platform Engineering practise area on November 1, 2022, according to another announcement made by Cognizant. He previously worked for Bain & Company as a senior vice president and leader of the enterprise technology global practice.

Prior to this, Sankaran worked at Accenture for 25 years, his last position being senior managing director. The organisation, which operates according to the calendar year, recorded USD 4.9 billion in sales for the second quarter that concluded in June 2022. Surya Gummadi, the interim CEO of Cognizant Americas, will take over the $5 billion Health Sciences business once again.
