News Synopsis

Qualcomm launched the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 Mobile Platform on Friday, a chipset that provides AI-enhanced experiences, high-speed 5G, and Wi-Fi connection.

According to the company, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 delivers great CPU and GPU performance, enabling fast, uninterrupted gaming, spectacular low-light photography, and 4K HDR videography.

"Today's launch of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 illustrates our ability to bring some of the most in-demand flagship features to our Snapdragon-7 series — making them accessible to more people," said Christopher Patrick, Qualcomm Technologies' senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets.

The newest Snapdragon chipset is optimized for outstanding performance in a variety of areas like as photography, gaming, audio, and more.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 includes an 18-bit Triple ISP, which enables users to capture in mega low light mode, which involves taking 30 pictures and combining the best portions into a single shot for brighter, clearer, and more colorful shots after dark.

According to the manufacturer, it also allows up to 200MP photo capture and staggered HDR video recording with triple exposure from two cameras at the same time.

Furthermore, the new chipset optimizes power and performance by displaying material in focus at full resolution and the scene's backdrop at a lesser resolution, due to select Snapdragon Elite Gaming capabilities such as Auto Variable Rate Shading (VRS).

According to the company, the integrated Qualcomm AI Engine provides AI-enhanced experiences with over 2x improved AI performance and 40% higher performance per Watt than its predecessor.

AI Super Resolution allows the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 to intelligently upscale gaming scenes or photographs for enhanced visual quality from a low-resolution image (1080p to 4K).

Qualcomm (QCOM) is well-known for its wireless telecommunications device design and production. Seven individuals formed the firm in 1985. It is headquartered in San Diego and employs roughly 45,000 people across 170 offices in over 30 countries.
