Pushp Kumar Joshi Takes Over as Chairman of HPCL

News Synopsis

Pushp Kumar Joshi became the new chairman and chief executive officer of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), India's third-largest oil refining and fuel marketing company. The company said that earlier, Dr. Joshi has been the company's director of human resources since August 1, 2012.

Surana retired on April 30, 2022, but Joshi was appointed as interim head in absence of a formal order from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) led by the Prime Minister. The ACC confirmation of his appointment is currently being received and he has officially become Chairman and managing director of HPCL.

Pushp Kumar Joshi is also in charge of Director-Marketing of HPCL. The company said in the statement, “During his career, he had held key portfolios in human resources functions viz. Executive director HRD and Head HR of Marketing Division.”

HPCL is also undertaking a modernization project for the Visakh and Greenfield refineries and petrochemical complexes in Barmer, Rajasthan.
