News Synopsis

In its latest round of funding, Praan, a deep tech startup has raised an unrevealed amount from global investors Aera VC, angel investment syndication Climate Angels, and Sequoia Scouts. Praan’s this round of funding also witnessed the participation of Cool Climate Collective, film director Roshan Abbas, and angel investor Akshat Rajan. Vijay Shekhar Sharma from Paytm, Nipun Sahni from Apollo Global Management, and Paula Mariwala from Seedfund Advisors comprised of Climate Angels while the Cool Climate Collective includes global angels from Tesla, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, and others. The company said that the raised funds will be utilized for the expansion of the company. This latest fundraising round is additional to the $1.56 million round it did in the month of January. Praan was founded by Angad Daryani in the year 2017. It aims to curb air pollution by using low-cost, filter-less, and artificial intelligence-based outdoor air purification systems. It has already commenced its large-scale pilots across the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, and Rajasthan. Its product is manufactured in large parts in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
