This international event is seen as a platform for countries, businesses, and governments to come together and discuss advancements, investment opportunities, and policies related to renewable energy.

Leadership in Renewable Energy

In his address, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi lauded PM Modi’s leadership, under which India has rapidly emerged as a global leader in renewable energy. He emphasized that India is not only the fifth-largest but also the world’s fastest-growing economy, and this economic growth has been accompanied by efforts to embrace clean energy solutions.

Minister Joshi highlighted PM Modi’s long-standing dedication to renewable energy, noting his contributions during his tenure as Gujarat's Chief Minister, where he spearheaded numerous green energy initiatives. This commitment has only grown since he became Prime Minister, making India a global champion of sustainable energy.

Gujarat's Commitment to Green Energy

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Gujarat’s leadership in the renewable energy sector. Under PM Modi’s guidance, Gujarat has emerged as the leading state in the country’s renewable energy initiatives. He noted the state's proactive renewable energy and green hydrogen policies as key indicators of Gujarat’s dedication to a sustainable future.

"The installed capacity of renewable energy in Gujarat is over 50,000 megawatts, with renewable energy contributing 54% to the state’s energy capacity. Gujarat leads India in solar power installation,” said CM Bhupendra Patel.

He also mentioned Gujarat’s ambitious goal of producing 3 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) of green hydrogen, positioning the state at the forefront of India’s green hydrogen revolution. "Gujarat is becoming a prime destination for investments in the green energy sector," he added.
