On Monday, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi spoke via video conference at a ceremony to introduce 35 new crop types that are intended to survive harsh weather. In Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, a premier farm-research facility was also launched virtually. PM Modi said that Indian scientists have created a number of technologies to help farmers cope with the effects of climate change, including 1,300 seed types that can adapt to a variety of circumstances. He also advocated for a campaign to protect agriculture from the effects of climate change.

The PM virtually opened the National Institute of Biotic Stress Management in Raipur, which would be a frontline lab for developing remedies for insect assaults and other causes of biotic stress on crops. According to climate researchers, Global warming might lead to the emergence of new pests. Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked, referring to the Raipur Institute saying, “More nutritious seeds that are suited to new situations, especially in changing climates, are a major priority for us. Let this be the beginning of a new campaign.”
