PM Modi and US President Joe Biden will hold a Virtual Meeting Today

News Synopsis

On Monday, the President of the United States (POTUS), Joe Biden will interact with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This virtual meeting will be conducted to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two nations. Several important issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate crisis, and Indo-Pacific concerns will be discussed by the top leaders of both nations.

Recently, Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary said: "President Biden and Prime Minister Modi will discuss cooperation on a range of issues including ending the COVID-19 pandemic, countering the climate crisis, strengthening the global economy, and upholding a free, open, rules-based international order to bolster security, democracy, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.” They will also discuss the development of an Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.

The Press Secretary further informed that the US President will continue our close consultations on the consequences of Russia's brutal war against Ukraine and reduce its impact on the global food supply. PM Modi and President Biden last interacted with each other in March. The Press Secretary further said: "This meeting will precede the US-India 2+2 Ministerial between Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, and External Affairs Minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh of India."
