News Synopsis

Pakistan defeated England by 5 runs in the fifth T20 match played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday to take a 3-2 lead in the seven-match series. Batting first, Pakistan scored 145 runs in 19 overs. England needed 15 runs to win in the last over and the ball was in the hands of Amir Jamal, playing his debut match. Jamal conceded only 9 runs in his over and gave Pakistan a thrilling five-run victory. Captain Moeen Ali played the most unbeaten 51 runs for the visiting England. Apart from him, David Malan contributed 36 and Sam Curran contributed 17 runs.

Earlier, batting first, Pakistan scored 145 runs in 19 overs. For the hosts, Rizwan played brilliant innings of 63 runs in 48 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes. At the same time, Iftikhar Ahmed scored 15, and Amir Jamal, playing his debut match, scored 10 runs. The rest of the batsmen could not even reach double digits. For England, Mark Wood got three, and David Willey and Sam Curran got two successes each.
