According to company founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola Electric is increasing the manufacturing of its e-scooters while at the same time increasing capacity at its plant in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu to meet future demand. The business said it will join the electric motorcycle market by the close of the next year after launching its new S1 Air electric scooter at a special price of Rs 79,999.

At the future factory, we are already producing more than a million a day. Beyond that we will grow it up substantially he said throughout a virtual news conference.

Aggarwal said We feel that the installed capacity will be used up in the next six to eight months and we are concurrently extending our capacity in the future factory.

He was responding to a question about how many electric scooters the business had sold thus far and when it expected to use all of the installed capacity at its production facility.

The plant of the firm can now manufacture 20 lakh units yearly. According to Ola Electric when everything is complete the factory would be able to produce 1 crore electric two-wheelers per year.

He failed to reply when asked about the investments for further increasing manufacturing capacity.

Aggarwal stated we are working on some very exciting ideas when asked about the company's future product plans which include electric bikes. We will definitely launch next year. Personally, I'm very excited about the motorcycling market and you should expect significant progress there in the upcoming year.

He said that when Ola Electric's platform software goes to market strategy and all other business-critical pillars stabilize the company's energy for product creation will only grow.

Ola claims to have sold over 1 lakh units of its newly released S1 and S1 Pro scooters in the restricted two-day purchase window. Ola's CEO Bhavish Agarwal confirmed the information with a tweet. The e-scooters were supposed to go on sale on September 8 but were delayed by one week due to some technical issues. Ola's Series S e-scooters now include the S1 and S1 Pro versions. Plans call for the start of deliveries in 1,000 communities in October of this year. With a 2.98-kWh battery pack, the entry-level S1 is capable of high speeds of 90 kilometers per hour and an all-electric range of 121 kilometers on a single charge. State governments offering rebates on electric vehicles may cause the cost of these vehicles to fall even more.
