Empowering India's AI Journey with Reliance Industries

NVIDIA's alliance with Reliance Industries aims to create India's foundation for a Large Language Model (LLM), tailored to the country's linguistic diversity. Jio Platforms, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, stated that the new AI cloud infrastructure will facilitate "accelerated computing and high-speed, secure cloud networking" for a wide spectrum of users, including researchers, developers, startups, scientists, and AI practitioners.

NVIDIA will provide Jio with comprehensive AI supercomputer technologies, encompassing CPUs, GPUs, networking solutions, and AI operating systems and frameworks essential for constructing AI models. Jio will oversee the management and maintenance of the AI cloud infrastructure.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, emphasized the transformative potential of this collaboration, stating, "Just as Jio played a pivotal role in our nation's digital advancement, computing and technology super centers like the one we envision with NVIDIA will be catalysts for widespread and accelerated growth."

Tata Group's Three-Pronged AI Strategy with NVIDIA

In partnership with the Tata Group, NVIDIA has outlined a comprehensive three-pronged approach:

  • Upskilling IT Workforce: NVIDIA will work closely with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's largest IT services company, to upskill over six lakh employees in the domain of AI. This initiative underscores the commitment to equip India's tech workforce with cutting-edge AI skills.

  • AI Integration in Tata Motors: The collaboration extends to Tata Motors, where AI technology will be deployed across various facets, including design, styling, engineering, simulation testing, and autonomous vehicle capabilities. This integration will drive innovation and efficiency in automotive design and production.

  • Empowering Tata Communications: NVIDIA will assist Tata Communications in building robust AI infrastructure, reinforcing the potential for transformative AI-driven solutions across diverse sectors.

Akash Ambani, Chairman of Jio Infocomm, highlighted the significance of their joint effort, emphasizing the development of "secure, sustainable, and deeply relevant" AI cloud infrastructure that caters to India's unique opportunities. He further expressed their vision to make AI accessible across sectors, propelling India toward becoming an AI powerhouse.

N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, acknowledged the central role of AI in governments, industries, and societies, underlining the urgency of embracing AI advancements.
