MPL launches Mayhem Studios

Gaming Unicorn Mobile Premier League (MPL) has set up a game studio to advance the development of AAA mobile games for the domestic and global markets.

Mayhem Studios, a subsidiary of MPL, aims to leverage the Indian developer community to create high-quality games. The studio will be joined by a team of experts in animation, art, cinematics, design, engineering, UI and UX game design, and game production.

MPL raised its Series E funding round last September led by Legatum Capital at a pre-money valuation of $2.3 billion, making it the second gaming unicorn in India. 

Sai Srinivas, co-founder, and CEO, of MPL, said that India has the potential to become a gaming hub in the world. It is imperative to build the requisite infrastructure for making world-class games to help achieve India’s vision to make the Indian digital gaming sector a world leader.

Bengaluru-based, Mayhem Studios will be the first AAA gaming studio in India. It will work on multiple esports and other games to meet the increasing demand due to the boom in the gaming sector in India and other markets. Ojas Vipat will serve as the CEO of the Mayhem Studios.
