News Synopsis

PATA Travel Mart 2023 will be held in New Delhi, India, from October 4-6, by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). The event will be hosted by the Government of India's Ministry of Tourism.

Arvind Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, made the announcement on March 7 at India Night during ITB Berlin.

"After a hiatus of three years due to the pandemic, we are extremely delighted to be organizing PATA Travel Mart 2023 in person in India, particularly since the country will be hosting the G20 Summit later this year. India is proving to be an important market in the recovery of travel and tourism within the Asia Pacific region and with its many initiatives in sustainable and inclusive tourism activities, it has the potential to be a preferred tourism destination, loved by both global and domestic tourists," said PATA Chair Peter Semone. "With its rich culture and beautiful natural landscapes, it is the perfect setting for people to access decision-makers, meet new clients, expand their networks, establish new relationships, and consolidate existing business partnerships, and I would like to welcome members and non-members to join us at this very special destination." says the president.

India, one of the world's oldest civilizations, is a melting pot of multicultural experiences. The country is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, due to its rich heritage and numerous attractions. It is bounded on the north by the Great Himalayas, and on the south by the Tropic of Cancer, it tapers off into the Indian Ocean between the Bay of Bengal on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west.

Guests traveling across the country are greeted by a variety of cuisines, faiths, arts, crafts, music, nature, lands, tribes, history, and adventure sports. India is a mesmerizing fusion of old and new. The quintessential traveler can get the best of both worlds as bustling old bazaars rub shoulders with swanky shopping malls and majestic monuments coexist with luxurious heritage hotels. Whether you want to go to the mountains, relax on a beach, or cruise through the golden Thar, India has something for everyone.
