In a proactive move to nurture leadership qualities among students, the Ministry of Education's Department of School Education & Literacy has inaugurated the 'Prerana: An Experiential Learning Program.' Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Prerana stands as a residential week-long initiative curated for chosen students ranging from class IX to XII.

Empowering Student Leaders

Prerana is meticulously crafted to empower 20 selected students from class IX to XII, fostering leadership and personal development. It is an embodiment of the Indian education system’s ethos and value-based philosophy, deeply rooted in the NEP 2020.

Week-long Residential Learning

This immersive program spans a week and is specifically designed for 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls) selected each week. These students will undergo a transformative experience that includes various value-driven sessions and activities.

Registration and Selection Process

Students seeking participation in Prerana can register via the designated portal, providing necessary details. The selection process entails a careful review, with applicants undergoing evaluation based on predefined criteria.

Ethical Principles and Learning Themes

Taking place in Vadnagar, Gujarat, at a Vernacular School established in 1888, the Prerana School curriculum, prepared in collaboration with IIT Gandhi Nagar, revolves around nine core themes. These encompass values such as courage, dedication, empathy, diversity, truthfulness, innovation, faith, and responsibility, fostering a holistic learning environment.

Inspirational and Holistic Curriculum

The meticulously curated curriculum features yoga, mindfulness, thematic sessions, and practical learning activities. Evenings comprise cultural visits, creative sessions, and engagements with inspirational narratives, blending diverse indigenous knowledge systems and technological insights.

Call for Positive Change

The program aims not only to inspire the youth but also to instill a sense of unity in diversity, reflecting the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.” The chosen participants are expected to embody the values imbibed during Prerana and catalyze positive transformations within their communities.
