News Synopsis

Taking the increasing number of Omicron cases, many companies have decided not to attend the CES 2022 in person. The list includes major tech companies like Amazon, Meta, T-Mobile, Pinterest, Google, and so many more. Microsoft has become the latest addition to the list of companies that have dropped the idea of attending the event in person.

The event was held virtually in 2021, but it was decided to have the event both in person and virtually from January 5 to January 8 in 2022. Till now over 40 companies have announced that they will not be attending the event in person.

The CES conference which is also known as Consumer Electronics Show is a showcase for the new devices and technology especially from consumer tech giants. The increasing Covid-19 cases across the USA have led to many companies postponing or canceling their plans to attend the event. As of Friday, more than 4,000 flights have been canceled on Christmas Eve due to the Omicron surge.
