News Synopsis

MG ZS EV owners are full of surprises as the automaker has announced plans to offer free charging of electric SUVs by the end of March. The automaker has also partnered up with Fortum Charge & Drive for this initiative.

However, this offer is limited to chargers that are only compatible with the CCS charging type. This applies to both new and existing ZS EV owners. From the new financial year, this service will be switched to public expense. Interested ZS-EV owners must download and register for the Fortum Charge & Drive India app to take advantage of this offer.

MG Motors provide a 7.4kW charger, that can charge the electric SUV from 0 to 100% in six to eight hours. The EV also comes with a portable charger that can be plugged in a regular 15A power socket, but it may take around 18-19 hours for the car to fully charge. The automaker has installed 50kW DC fast chargers at some of its dealerships that can charge the vehicle from 0-80% in less than 50 minutes.
