News Synopsis

MG Motor India and lubricant maker Castrol India are working with Jio-bp to explore mobility solutions for electric vehicles, the automaker said in a statement on Thursday.

As part of the partnership, Jio-bp, MG Motor, and Castrol will consider building a charging infrastructure for four-wheeled electric vehicles and will expand Castrol's existing automotive service network to serve EV customers.

The partnership is in line with Jio-bp and MG Motor's efforts to provide EV customers with comprehensive and reliable charging infrastructure and accelerate EV adoption in India, the statement added.

Jio-bp, a joint venture between Reliance Industries Ltd and bp, is building an ecosystem that benefits everyone involved in the EV value chain. With the Jio-bp pulse mobile app, customers can easily find a nearby charging station and charge their EV seamlessly.

As part of the partnership, Castrol will develop and expand its existing multi-brand automotive service network and express oil change center to launch four-wheel electric vehicle services. These services will be offered at Jio-bp Mobility Stations and some Castrol Auto Service Workshops throughout India, initially serving both EV and non-EV four-wheeled vehicles.
