Mexico’s Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón will visit India tomorrow

News Synopsis

Foreign Minister of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, will be visiting India from 30 March to 1 April 2022 at the invitation of the External Affairs Minister, Dr. S Jaishankar. Last year in the month of September, Mr. Jaishankar visited Mexico city. This will also be Mr. Casaubón's first visit since he became the Foreign Minister. He will also visit Mumbai. The Ministry of External Affair in its Press release said: "The two Ministers will undertake a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and will also discuss international issues of mutual interest." Mexico and India has diplomatic ties with each other for a long time. In fact, Mexico was the first country in Latin America to establish diplomatic relations with India in 1950. It is currently, India’s biggest trading partner in Latin America. India majorly exports vehicles, organic chemicals, aluminum products, iron, steel, and ceramic products to Mexico. Indian companies have invested around $3 billion in the Latin country.
