News Synopsis

Meta announced that creators on Facebook's short video creation platform Reels can earn up to $4,000 a month for their original content. The company has introduced "challenges" on Facebook, a new incentive to help developers of reel play bonus programs.

Meta said it is adjusting the payment calculation method to reward creators of various audience sizes who create high-quality original content that resonates with people.

The company said in a statement that each creator in the program will be able to participate in a series of subsequent, cumulative challenges each month, for example, earn $20 dollars when 5 of your reels reach 100 plays each.

"For example, if the creator completes the example of the 5-reel challenge above, they will see the following examples, earn $100 when five of your reels reach 500 plays each. Creator progress in the Challenge will be reset to Rank 1 at the beginning of the 30-day bonus period.

Meta is introducing insights for Reels Play creators on Facebook. On its insight page, creators can easily see how many plays each of their Reels received within the given earning period. It is also introducing overlay ads in Reels on Facebook and is testing them with a wider set of creators to have a more high-quality inventory for advertisers on its platform.
