Meta introduce a new AI Supercomputer

On Monday, Meta Incorporation, formerly known as Facebook Inc., announced that its research team has developed a new AI Supercomputer. Meta Inc. claims that it will be the fastest supercomputer in the future. In manufacturing this computer, other tech giants such as Nvidia Inc., Penguin Computing, and Pure Storage Inc. also contributed significantly. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in a statement, said: “The experiences we’re building for the metaverse require enormous compute power…and RSC will enable new AI models that can learn from trillions of examples, understand hundreds of languages, and more”. The company informed that the said supercomputer right now is used to train AI models in natural language processing. There are 6,080 GPUs from Nvidia, installed in this supercomputer, and currently stands at the world’s fifth-fastest supercomputer, according to the company. The company is planning to increase these GPUs to 16,000 in a couple of months which will eventually make it the world’s fastest supercomputer.
