News Synopsis

Mark Zuckerberg's Meta announced a partnership with VC fund Kalaari Capital on Wednesday to qualify and scale the young Indian investment firm by providing timely business qualification support. This partnership is part of Meta's VC Brand Incubator Initiative for the growth of SMEs in India.

Ajit Mohan, VP, and MD at Meta in India said, “As part of this initiative, Meta has partnered with India's largest VC funds. We are thrilled to now partner with Kalaari Capital which has been instrumental in the growth journey of many startups.”

Vani Kola, Founder, and Managing Director, of Kalaari Capital has said that as startups scale, they need to leverage several tools and platforms like Meta to support their growth. Kalaari Capital is a Bangalore-based venture capital firm focused on early-stage technology.

Over the past three years, Meta has partnered with 16 VC funds, including Kalaari Capital, to successfully qualify and guide more than 500 SMEs at various stages of growth.

In April, Meta acquired Sequoia Capital along with other VCs, including Fireside Ventures, Elevation Capital, DSG Consumer Partners, Matrix Partners, Anthill Ventures, and Stellaris Ventures.

Meta said that along with Kalaari Capital, young companies with investments from emerging sectors such as tech, social commerce, games, and fin-tech will join the initiative.
