News Synopsis

German Luxury Carmaker, Mercedes Benz India, informed that its sales have surged by 26% in January to March quarter of 2022. The largest luxury carmaker in the nation informed that a constant demand for luxury cars from the top class of India's earning population is the major reason behind its sales growth. The luxury automobile manufacturer’s order book has reached 4,000 cars in the first quarter of the calendar year 2022 which is worth ₹3,000 crores.

Surprisingly, things did go that well in its global sales. Its global sales declined by 15 percent in the same quarter due to the semiconductor shortage. The company further informed that it hopes that this growth rate of 25% will continue if not increase. This eventually means it will clock sales of about 14,000 to 15,000 cars this year. The company sold over 4,000 cars in the first quarter of 2022, and its booking order of 4,000 cars makes things easier for the brand in the country in the future. Managing Director of the Mercedes Benz India, Martin Schwenk said that sales in Q1 of 2022 will support them in their long-term recovery.
