Meesho aims to launch IPO in 2023

News Synopsis

The social e commerce platform Meesho is looking to launch its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the early months of the year 2023. Meesho has become very popular in the last few years, thanks to its aggressive marketing campaign on social media and other platforms. Social Media giant Meta Incorporation and Softbank Group’s Vision 2 are its investors. According to the internal documents the company is evaluating both Indian and Foreign Exchanges for its listing. Last year, the social commerce company raised $570 million in its Series F funding at a valuation of $4.9 billion in the month of September. The Series F round was led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and B Capital Group. An official on the condition of anonymity said: "Meesho is filing documents by January next year and wants to essentially be done with the IPO by the first half of 2023.”  Meesho was founded by Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal, both alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology in the year 2015. Prosus Ventures and Sequoia Capital are some of the other investors in the company.
