News Synopsis

Union Government last year launched the New Education Policy as demands to change years old education system was being raised for a very long time. It was said that the education system of the country is very rigid and obsolete. This New Education Policy was planned, aiming to make the education ecosystem more flexible and dynamic. This will create room for the growth of students and the expansion of their ideas. Some of the major reforms under this New Education Policy are that the Students will now have to take a school examination which was conducted by the appropriate authority in classes 3, 5, and 8. However, the Board examination for 10th and 12th will be continued as usual but will be redesigned with the vision of holistic growth. From class 6th students will start to learn to code. Till 5th standard along with English, other regional and local languages will also be used as a medium of instruction for better understanding. A new national assessment platform, PARAKH (Performance assessment, review, and analysis of knowledge for holistic development), will be set up.
