JSW MG Motor India Makes a Significant Push in India's EV Market

JSW MG Motor India, a joint venture between SAIC Motor and the JSW Group, is making notable strides in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market. At the recent event DriEV.Bharat, the company showcased a range of innovations designed to enhance the EV ownership experience and accelerate EV adoption across the country.

Simplifying Charging with eHUB

Addressing one of the most significant concerns for potential EV buyers—charging infrastructure—JSW MG Motor India has introduced the eHUB app. This new tool aims to streamline the EV charging process by providing a comprehensive platform for locating, reserving, and paying for charging stations throughout India.

The eHUB app features partnerships with major charging networks, including Adani Total Energies Limited (ATEL), BPCL, and Jio-BP, with plans to integrate additional networks in the future. Users can also benefit from the app’s trip-planning capabilities, which help in planning longer journeys with efficient charging stops. Available in 11 languages, eHUB is designed to cater to a diverse audience, making it a user-friendly option for EV owners across different regions.

Project REVIVE: Extending Battery Life

In line with its commitment to sustainability, JSW MG Motor India has launched Project REVIVE. This initiative focuses on repurposing used EV batteries to support secondary applications, thereby extending their life cycle. In collaboration with TERI and Lohum, Project REVIVE aims to harness the remaining capacity of these batteries to provide energy to schools, community centers, and other institutions.

A pilot project at a school in Mukteshwar exemplifies the potential impact of Project REVIVE, demonstrating how repurposed batteries can contribute to green energy solutions. By giving a second life to EV batteries, JSW MG Motor India is promoting sustainable practices within the automotive industry.

EVPEDIA: Educating and Empowering EV Owners

Recognizing the importance of education in fostering EV adoption, JSW MG Motor India has developed EVPEDIA—a comprehensive platform dedicated to EV education. EVPEDIA serves as a valuable resource for current and prospective EV owners, offering insights into various aspects of EV ownership.

The platform features interactive displays, educational videos, and live demonstrations covering topics such as EV ownership costs, government incentives, and technical specifications. Additionally, EVPEDIA includes eVir, an AI chatbot designed to provide instant answers to EV-related queries. This initiative aims to empower users with knowledge, helping them make informed decisions about EV ownership.

Enhanced In-Car Connectivity with MG-Jio ICP

To further enhance the driving experience, JSW MG Motor India has partnered with Reliance Jio to create the MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP). This advanced in-car technology stack is set to be a standard feature in all upcoming MG vehicles in India.

The MG-Jio ICP includes the MG Store, an app store that allows users to download a variety of in-car games, entertainment applications, and learning tools. The platform also supports voice commands in six Indian languages, promoting inclusivity and ease of use. Additionally, the Home-to-Car functionality enables users to control various vehicle functions remotely. This feature allows for the locking and unlocking of doors, adjusting cabin temperature, and monitoring fuel levels for plug-in hybrids.

By integrating these advanced technologies, JSW MG Motor India aims to provide a seamless and enhanced driving experience, aligning with its broader goals of advancing EV adoption and improving the overall EV ecosystem in India.
