News Synopsis

Twitter Inc co-founder Jack Dorsey said on Wednesday that he was not interested in taking control of the social media company, hinting at his limited involvement if Elon Musk successfully closes the takeover deal. Jack Dorsey heads payment firm Block Inc currently and has a 2.4% stake in Twitter.

Since the Twitter board accepted Musk's $44 billion takeover bid on April 25, little is clear about the company's new leadership after the deal closes. There have been reports that Musk has lined up a new chief executive officer. While there have been reports saying that the Tesla CEO can also temporarily take over the top job in the company.

Dorsey has been turbulent as the head of a social media company. He was replaced as Twitter CEO in 2008, two years after the service went live. But Dorsey regained the top position in 2015 before giving up his role to Chief Technology Officer Parag Agarwal at the end of last year. Meanwhile, according to a recent regulatory filing, Musk is in talks with Dorsey to donate his shares to the proposed acquisition.
