News Synopsis

Saying that titles like CEO get in the way of doing the right thing, Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s founder has announced his new title at his digital payments company, Block. Jack Dorsey announced that he is no longer the CEO of the company and said that from now on he is Block Head.

According to Block’s filing to the SEC, there will be no changes made in Mr. Dorsey’s roles and responsibilities, and he will continue to serve as principal executive officer of the company. The filing also states that the changes are made at Dorsey’s request.

The company also said that it no longer will have the title of CEO and president. It is also assumed that Jack Dorsey’s successors in the role will also be called Block Head as he has long preferred titles as “head” or “lead” to senior designations.

Shortly after Dorsey tweeted in 2012 that a title like "CEO" would prevent him from doing the right thing, he reduced the time he spent focusing on Twitter as Executive Chairman to focus on Block.
