News Synopsis

Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said that he opposed the permanent suspension of accounts on the platform unless the account was involved in illegal activity. Dorsey said, “As I’ve said before, I don’t believe any permanent ban is right or should be possible. This is why we need a protocol that’s resilient to the layers above.”

Though Dorsey did not name any individual his tweet was directed towards the former president of the USA, Donald Trump who was banned from Twitter last year after the Capital Hill incident. Twitter also temporarily banned the New York Post after publishing an article about Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden.

Twitter Legal head Vijaya Gadde was recently criticized by Tesla CEO Elon Musk. He reportedly bought a microblogging site for $44 billion in the same action.

Earlier this week, Dorsey said, "Elon Musk is a unique solution I trust, and his mission to expand the light of consciousness." Musk also said that Twitter must remain politically neutral in order to continue to enjoy the trust of the public.
