News Synopsis

Apple's next-generation iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max smartphones from the American tech giant are finally ready for always-on display. Apple may introduce this feature in iOS 16 that will be able to display a limited amount of information even when the iPhone is locked.

According to reports, the iPhone's always-on mode may function the same way as it did with Apple Watch Series 5 and above. iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max reduce the lock screen frame rate when Always On mode is enabled, allowing you to save power when the display remains on.

It's unclear if the new iPhone will use the same low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display that Apple uses on its new Watch model. These low-power screens are built so that the device does not consume excessive power and therefore play a major role in ensuring that the always-on mode works properly.

Analysts predicted last year that the iPhone 13 would come with an LTPO display that enables an always-on display. The Always-on feature has been supported on some Android devices for many years.
