News Synopsis

Infosys, a global leader in digital services and consulting, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aramco, one of the world's leading integrated energy and chemicals companies, to collaborate on accelerating their human resource (HR) technology. The companies intend to create digitally connected employee experiences using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and automation tools.

The collaboration aims to leverage the power of AI to improve employee experience, provide new insights to HR data and analytics, and scale the usage of automation tools. Infosys also plans to integrate digital transformation practices and technologies into Aramco's HR platform to enhance the overall digital experience for employees and encourage greater engagement.

Ashiss Kumar Dash, EVP & Global Head - Services, Utilities, Resources and Energy, Infosys, said, "Infosys' programs for learning and development have been acknowledged and benchmarked globally and we take great pride in them. Through this collaboration, we intend to bring our digital expertise and tools to Aramco's HR practice to deliver a world-class employee experience. By aiming to incorporate high-level AI and automation into their employee management model, we will attempt to help Aramco scale and enhance their talent model."

The companies plan to use AI to reduce skill gaps and improve Aramco's staff learning and development opportunities. AI-powered learning might optimise repetitive HR management duties by saving time and effort during training delivery. Insights from AI-powered research will be used to track ROI, support Aramco's algorithmic decision-making, and help the company recognise trends and locate effective recruitment channels.

Commenting on the MoU, Faisal A. Al-Hajji, SVP Human Resources, Aramco, said, "At Aramco, we are constantly looking to improve employee experience and make our company the best place to work. This collaboration will allow us to explore ways to further upgrade our focus on customer-centricity and transform our digital HR offerings."

The MoU marks a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between Infosys and Aramco. The two companies have collaborated on several projects, including the development of a new energy trading platform and the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, an enterprise resource planning software.

The collaboration between Infosys and Aramco comes at a time when companies are increasingly turning to digital technologies to enhance their HR functions. According to a report by Gartner, the use of AI in HR is expected to increase from 6% in 2019 to 69% by 2024.
