India recorded  1,150 New COVID-19 Cases in the Past 24 hours

News Synopsis

According to the Union Health Ministry, India reported 1,150 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. This took the number of infections in the country to  4,30,34,217. However, the total number of active cases decreased to 11,365. The ministry data further revealed that the number of deaths reached 5,21,656 with 83 daily fatalities being reported. The ministry informed that active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.76 percent. According to the data, in the past 24 hours, India’s active cases decreased by 127.

As per the ministry, the daily positivity rate was at 0.25 percent and the weekly positivity rate was at 0.23 percent. The number of people who recovered from the infection has increased to 4,25,01,196. The fatality rate was recorded at 1.21 percent. The number of covid vaccine doses administered in India has exceeded 185.55 crores. Recently, in order to strengthen its fight against the virus, the government has approved to administer the booster dose of the vaccine in adults from April 10.
