India Condemns the Launch of ICBM by North Korea

Recently, North Korea test-fired an Inter Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) and released video footage of the trial as well. Reacting to this many countries around the world condemned the notorious nation. India also, on Friday condemned the recent launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) by North Korea at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). It also insisted to resolve the issues prevailing in the Korean Peninsula through dialogue. The Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in its statement said: "India deplores the launch of an ICBM by the DPRK. This is a violation of the resolutions of the UN Security Council relating to the DPRK. It affects the peace and security of the region and beyond.” This is the first ICBM launched by North Korea in the last four years. The fired test missile splashed down in waters off Japan's western coast on Thursday. Countries like Japan, the US, and South Korea all condemned the test of a long-range ballistic missile by North Korea. Ambassador to India for UN TS Tirumurti said the missile launch by the country is a violation of the resolutions of the UN Security Council. He said: "These linkages have an adverse impact on peace and security in the region, including on India. Support dialogue to resolve the issues in the Korean Peninsula."
