India aims to achieve 1.2 billion ton coal production by 2023-24

Union Minister of Coal, Pralhad Joshi, on Wednesday, informed that the Government is aiming to achieve 1.2 billion tons of coal production by the year 2023-24. He also said that in order to achieve its target the government has implemented various policies and initiatives such as single-window clearance, rolling auction, and revenue sharing mechanism. In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, Joshi said: "Coal India Limited (CIL) has envisaged a coal production program of one Billion Tonne from CIL mines”. Coal India Limited has taken some steps to achieve this ambitious number. They launched a single-window clearance system to speed up the coal mine operations. They have also undertaken a capacity addition policy to help them in increasing the coal production of the country.
